CHRIST IS RISEN! HE IS RISEN INDEED! ALLELUIA! AMEN!

Here's a recap of the events of the last few days, April 2-5, 2015 at Zion Lutheran Church:

Maundy Thursday - April 2, we celebrated Christ's institution of the Lord's Supper and reviewed the section of Luther's Small Catechism "Christian Questions and Their Answers - Prepared by Dr. Martin Luther for those who intend to got to the Sacrament. We also discussed how our practice of Close(d) Communion is an act of love.

GOOD FRIDAY - April 3, at Noon many of us attended the circuit-wide Tre Ore service at Peace in Hastings. There we got to hear the preaching of many of our circuit pastors, including our own Pastor Warneke, preaching on the seven words from the cross. Other pastors involved included Pastor Lowe from Blue Hill, Pastor Landsmann from Holstein and Wanda, and Pastors Mackay and Siebert from Peace.

That evening we gathered together at Zion for our Tenebrae Service, the Service of Darkness. As the sanctuary got darker and darker that night, we could not help but sense the depths Christ went through to save us. But we were not left destitute, as the light of Christ prevailed.

EASTER VIGIL - Saturday night, April 4, we celebrated the sacrament of Holy Baptism as Jaimie Lapp received the washing of new birth and the renewal of the Holy Spirit. She, along with Brandon Faimon, became communicant members of Zion, having completed our Thursday evening instruction class on Luther's Small Catechism.

EASTER SUNRISE - Sunday morning, April 5, 7am, our Baptism celebration continued with Michaela Hargis being baptized. We also celebrated the Lord's Supper.

Following the Sunrise service, our High school youth served a delicious hot breakfast of scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, fruit, etc. Proceeds will go towards the Higher Things youth gathering this summer in Seward.

EASTER MORNING - Our 9am service featured the Lord's Supper as well. We continued our focus on the empty tomb, with the assurance that Christ is risen from the dead, Alleluia!

An Easter egg hunt for children of all ages was held during our Education Hour. A good time was had by All!

The season of Easter continues now for the next seven weeks!

See how we can meet the needs of your family.

We also continue to collect Best Choice labels, Campbell's points, and Box Tops for Education all year round. Thanks to all of you for making this a success at Zion.
